80% of the energy resources are consumed in cities worldwide. This figure shows the important role that urban areas play for the reduction of energy use and CO2emissions. The lecture will give an overview of the different sectors of energy consumption, of initiatives and measures for energy efficiency internationally and in Ukraine.

In an exercise together with the students city areas that are most energy efficient – and therefore will be the most valuable areas for the future will be detected, and the features of the city of the future will be defined together.
